Tolbert is 2023 Miss TCAC Black and Gold

When Chloe Ny'ree Tolbert was growing up in Plano, Texas, her family and fellow students knew that she would become a star someday. Well, the 21 year old junior pre-Nursing and Health major at Prairie View A&M University took a second step toward stardom as the new Texas Council of Alpha Chapters (TCAC) Miss Black and Old Gold sponsored by the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. on February 9 in Sugarland, Texas. Chloe represented the Eta Gamma Chapter along with Gabrielle Orji, who was the second runner-up, representing the Epsilon Tau Lambda Chapter at the pageant.


Chloe will represent the TCAC at the Miss Texas Black and Gold Southwest Region Pageant on March 29-April 1 in Forth Worth, Texas. Outside of her commitment to the classroom, she has dedicated her time to the National Association for the Advancement of Colored people, Executive Board of Helper Advancing the Lives of Others Student Government

Association, Panther advisory leaders, Sisters improving sisterhood, Royal Court and currently serving as the 2022-2023 Miss Sophomore at the illustrious Prairie View A&M University while proudly representing the Eta Gamma Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity inc. as their 2023-2024 Miss Black & Gold. Beyond graduation, she plans to become a pediatric nurse practitioner, and open up her private practice to pursue her highest dreams in the medical field. Chloe says she could not have accomplished so much and made it so far professionally and mentally if it wasn’t for her grandmother, Mrs. Nellie Tolbert also known as her Nene. "My Nene has set me up for success and greatness from such a young age and molded me into the strong black woman I am today and I will forever be grateful for that. My Nene has inspired me to return the favor to others, her positive impact on my life influenced my platform.


Chloe's Platform is The Golden Link that will stimulate professional growth and leadership development amongst black youth by incorporating mentorship programs, leadership workshops, and networking opportunities throughout HBCU

student leaders and scholarship assistance. She also plans on helping them to inspire the young scholars to be their best self and to aspire to great things despite what others may think. When it comes to building our global future, there is no bigger asset than today's youth. Her overall goal is to uplift and prepare youth for a triumphant future. She stands by the quote "The mission of life is not merely to survive, but to thrive”. She is a strong Black woman, and you will hear her roar with her action.

When asked to name two Persons she would invite to her fantasy dinner, she enthusiastically responded - Michelle Obama and Oprah Winfrey. Upon winning the title Chloe was so elated and stated that her goal is to be the best Miss Black and Gold that she can be. She was also grateful to have her pageant sister, Gabrielle Orji, representing the Epsilon Tau Lambda Chapter, as her second runner-up.
