Meet the 2021-22 Contestants
The 2021-22 Black and Gold Pageant under the theme: "Reflections: The Me that I Am" features nine of the most dynamic, devastating, talented and progressive young women at Prairie View A&M University. The pageant is on January 28, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. on Instagram @missblackandgoldpv and the YouTube Network. NO IN PERSON AUDIENCE.
The Pageant promises to be an extravagant production for your entertainment pleasure. We invite you to support the contestant of your choice and the pageant in general by purchasing an advertisement or sponsorship.

Anjunae’ L. Maberry is from Hammond, Louisiana and a graduate of Hammond High Magnet School. She is a sophomore English major. Her career ambition is to become Sports & Entertainment attorney Her PHILOSOPHY OF LIFE: “Strive to portray and act in the most mature and merciful manner." She puts God first for guidance to achieve her goals. She is a PVAMU Regents Scholarship recipient; social media/marketing chair for M.I.F. and H.E.R. Fantasy dinner guest are Michelle Obama and Boyce Watkins.
Faith A. Ojuolape is a native of the Bronx, New York, and a graduate of Lamar Consolidated high school. She is a sophomore chemistry major with the career ambition to become an OB/GYN. Her philosophy of life: “Live life aiming for your highest purpose and gain wisdom”. She enjoys rice, dancing, reading and working out. Her platform: “Applying Pressure.” Her community outreach includes Common Threads and Houston Food Bank. She would enjoy the company of Morgan Freeman and Michelle Obama.
Sydnei G. Williams Odessa, Texas and a graduate of Desoto High. She is a junior Social Work student with their career ambition is to become a Clinical Social worker. Her philosophy of life: "Make a difference in the life of others." She is a Cheerleader and a United Cheerleader Association instructor. Some of her favorites are Kehlani, Gabrielle Union, Seafood, writing, reading. Her platform is “Strength is Confidence.” Her dinner guests are Rupal and Queen Latifah.
Heaven R. Relford hails from Beaumont, Texas. She is a graduate of Central Medical Magnet High School. She is a senior Biology major with the career ambition to become an OB-GYN. Her philosophy of life: "Live life and be optimistic." She serves on H.E.R E-board and enjoys Volleyball, Doing Hair, Track, Cooking, Ellen Pompeo, and Liam Neison. Her platform is W.H.O. (Women Honoring Ourselves). She would invite her mother and father to her fantasy dinner.
Logan Alexandria Smith is from Houston, Texas and a graduate of Summercreek Highschool. She is a sophomore Interdisciplinary studies major with the career ambition to become an educator and principal. Her philosophy in life: "To positively help impact all women in the society." She is a member of Top Teen of America (Greater Houston), and YMCA Camp Counselor. Her platform is “Note to Self: Build confidence in black women and defeat mental health." Her fantasy dinner guests are her parents.
Ayngelyn A. Hobbs is from Victoria, Texas and a graduate of Victoria East High school. She is a sophomore History major with the career ambition to become a high school history teacher. Her philosophy of life: "Everything is limited to your overall view and attitude of life." She is an All-American Cheerleader with honors - High school/college. She admires Aaliyah, and Kehlani and enjoys time with family. Her platform “Shaken and Incorporate" focuses on childhood cancer.
Mya R. Campbell is from Fort Worth, Texas and a graduate of Camden Fairview High School. She is a junior Mechanical Engineering major with the career ambition of becoming a CEO and President of a major engineering firm. Her philosophy of life: “Don’t wait for the right moment to start, start and make the moment right.’ She is a Roy G. Perry College of Engineering Honor Student and enjo, cheerleading and teaching gymnastics. Her platform: “Creating Generational wealth for minority men and women
Ireanne U. Dubose is from New Orleans, Louisiana is a graduate of MaCarthur High. She is a junior in Interdisciplinary Studies with a career ambition to become an English Teacher and own a Dance Studio. Her philosophy of life: Be happy and healthy do what best for you." She enjoys riding, volunteering at her church vacation bible school, time with family and admires gymnast Gabby Douglas. Her platform: “Ignite your inner bull.” Fantasy dinner guests are Megan Thee Stallion and Chris Brown.
Jamee S. Gibson is from Humboldt, Tennessee and is a graduate of Humboldt High School. She is junior in biology with the career ambition to become a Physician Assistant. Her philosophy of life: “Let all that you do be done in Love.” She is business owner and admires Jazmine Sullivan and H.E.R. Her community service Adopt-A-Highway Cleanup, Mentoring and Cheerleading. Her platform: "Building free, permanent/free housing for the homeless. Her fantasy dinner guests are J. Cole and Jhené Aiko.
