THE COMPETITION
You have an idea about where you want to go? Need some help getting there? We are the experts at helping our contestants take their personal development to the next stage. We look forward to transforming you into that one special woman for the title of Miss Black and Gold as you compete in the various areas of competition for the Crown.
THE PRIZES
The prizes awarded to the Miss Black and Gold and contestants varies. However, the Miss Black and Gold winner receives a $1,000 scholarship, the Official Crown, Plaque, Sash, Bouquet of flowers and other amenities when available. The First Runner-up receives a $500 scholarship, Plaque and other amenities when available. Special awards are given for the winners of the competitions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Since its beginnings the Miss Black and Gold winner and the contestants have represented the chapters of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. at the university, district, regional and national levels. Miss Black and Gold has sponsored seminars and other programs and have participated in other external programs for the chapters.

PAGEANT GOAL
The goal for the Miss Black and Gold Scholarship Pageant is to select the best candidates to represent the Eta Gamma and Epsilon Tau Lambda Chapters of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. at the Miss Black and Gold Texas Pageant and prepare the candidates for pageant competitions beyond the title. 024
Our pageant experts prepares the contestants with programs designed and tailored specifically to their needs and development in order to ensure that they can achieve their dreams of success.
QUALIFICATIONS
To be eligible to compete in the Black and Gold Scholarship Pageant, the contestant must be enrolled at PVAMU through the Fall Semester after the selection; hold a 2.80 GPA; be a natural born female between 18-26; be single and never married; no child; and possess a talent to staged within 2.50 minutes.
