Meet the 2020-21 Queens

The 2020-21 Black and Gold Pageant, under the theme: "Bold: Empowered Women Rising", featured thirteen of the most dynamic, devastating, talented and progressive young women at Prairie View A&M University. After six rounds fo competition, the following contestants were selected as the winners: Miss Black & Gold Eta Gamma - Z'Nae Mangum and Miss Black & Gold Epsilon Tau Lambda - Melanie Hollis.
Z'Nae Mangum

Z’Nae Michelle Mangum is a senior in Biology from Houston. At Prairie View A&M, Z’Nae showcases leadership in her community and campus by proudly serving as a member of Collegiate 100, Miss Black and Gold 2021-22 for the Eta Gamma chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., Miss Marching Storm 2018-19, and 2021-22 Black Fox Captain. She is a mentor at Studio V Dance studio and the Dean’s List. She plans to attend medical school to become a dermatologist. Her platform "Butterfly Effect".

Malenie Hollis

Melanie Hollis is a Psychology student and plans on becoming a Cardiothoracic Surgeon. Her achievements: she is an Honors Scholar, Panther Aid, MAPS, Impressions of Beauty Campus Ambassador, NAACP member, Assistant to and 2nd Runner-up to Miss Prairie View A&M University. Her platform "Presenting Positive Affirmations and Proclaiming your truth and Purpose. She wants people to be vocal about who they are, and get involved in order to better themselves and their environment.

Z'Nae was named 2nd Runner-up at the TCAC District Pageant and won the Miss PVAMU Title for 2021-22.

Melanie was named to the Top 7 at the TCAC District Pageant and won 2nd Runner-up to Miss PVAMU for 2021-22.
